RoHS Regulations
What is it? The Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) is a new piece of environmental legislation that applies to specific electrical equipment placed onto the market from 1st July 2006. R0HS is designed to reduce the environment impact of these products during their life cycle (manufacture – use – disposal) by ensuring that certain hazardous substances are removed or dramatically reduced.
What does it mean? From 1st July 2006 it becomes illegal to place onto the market any product that falls within scope of the regulations, unless it complies. This also means that anyone using a component to manufacture a product covered by the regulations will need to make sure it complies.
Our commitment to you Whilst the regulations are complex, at WF Electrical we understand that most of our customers simply want reassurance that they are buying a product that complies. We have therefore assessed the products and components within our own branded line (Alto) against the requirements of the RoHS regulations and identified them either as complying with RoHS regulations or are exempt – not covered by the scope of RoHS regulations and therefore does not need to meet the standards.
You can now buy in confidence, knowing that we have addressed the complex technical issues and provided you with a clear indication of compliance.
