STANDARDS AND COMPLIANCE

|
The Institution prepares regulations for the safety of electrical installations for buildings and the IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671) has become the standard for the UK and many other countries. It also recommends, internationally, the requirements for ships and offshore installations.
The institution provides guidance on the application of the installation regulations through publications focused on the various activities from design of the installation through to final test and maintenance.

The Wiring Regulations are the national standard to which all domestic and industrial wiring must conform. Electrical Maintenance 2nd Edition

The IEE's publication Electrical Maintenance has been thoroughly updated and gives essential information for the go-ahead electrician.
